‘Linear warp drive’ is a fanon term for the change in technology represented by the flat-sided warp nacelles introduced in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. My speculative Prospero is a primitive precursor of the Miranda-class seen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
